Historiale

The Historiale Museum was built in 2004 for the 60th anniversary of Montecassino’s Battle, to honor the fallen soldiers from all the countries, who sacrificed their lives for the triumph of peace and freedom.

The entire exposition was designed and realized by Officine Rambaldi, guided by the creative genius Carlo Rambaldi, a special effects artist winner of three Oscars, for the movies King Kong, ET, and Alien.

The guided tour is developed through the most emblematic events of the twentieth century; the evocation of Saint Benedict’s work, the two world conflicts, the story of the cruel battles of the Second World War, the building of the Gustav Line, the bombardment of Montecassino’s Abbey, the military strategies, the witness of the civilians, the rebirth of the territory, the will and the strength to rebuild.

Near the Historiale Museum, there is also the “Atelier” Hall (Sala Atelier), all the information can be found in the section below.
